The parliaments of the Commonwealth of Independent States are currently considering the agreement on the formation of a free trade area within the CIS, and the agreement may be ratified late in February.

"I’ve asked the Cabinet of Ministers to submit the agreement to the Verkhovna Rada," Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn said at a press conference on Monday.

"Meanwhile, we are discussing the possibility of synchronizing its ratification with the parliaments of the countries that signed the agreement " Lytvyn said.

Asked when the agreement would be ready for ratification, the speaker said late February.

"However, the Verkhovna Rada has to receive it [the agreement first] so that MPs can study it," he said.

Earlier, First Vice Premier Andriy Kliuyev said that the agreement would be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada by the end of this week.
