After the Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal case against second Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma (1994-2005) in connection with the murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze, current President Viktor Yanukovych has "no way back" - he is becoming "a kamikaze," a former officer of the State Department of Guard, Major Mykola Melnychenko, has said.

"Due to a criminal case opened against Kuchma, Yanukovych is becoming a kamikaze. Yanukovych has no way to turn back, and he is sawing at the branch he’s sitting on," he told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.
