Ukraine has created a working group headed by Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov to conduct talks with Russia on the country's ban on imports of the products of the largest Ukrainian confectionary corporation, Roshen.

“The present situation affects the interests of over 8,000 workers of
our enterprises. It could affect the balance of trade and it threatens a
reduction in tax payments at all levels. We’ll insist on objectivity,
and protect our national interests,” the press service of the Economic
Development and Trade Ministry reported on Wednesday, citing Prasolov.

Prasolov said that Ukraine would conduct a reasonable policy so as
not to allow a worsening in trade relations between the two countries.
He said that it was planned to hold consultations with Russia, to study
the official results of the tests, and agree on a check on Roshen’s
enterprises by specialists from Russia’s Rospotrebnadzor.

“After the check the issue of resuming exports of Ukrainian products
to the Russian market will be settled. Our specialists are ready to go
to Moscow and hold talks any time as soon as we agree it with Russia,”
he said.

As reported, the Russian sanitary services on Monday banned the
supply of products manufactured by the confectionery corporation Roshen
to Russia.
