The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has not yet received any requests on holding an extraordinary meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine.

“At the present moment, preparations are under way for meetings about which the parties agreed in Minsk on Oct. 6. We have received no requests [on holding an extraordinary meeting],” Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Dmitry Mironchik told Interfax on Oct. 6.

At the same time, Mironchik stressed that, when necessary, preparations for Trilateral Contact Group meetings do not take a long time.

It was reported earlier that Kyiv was considering the organization of an extraordinary meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine after Ukrainian government forces had been shelled in Donbas on Oct. 5.

OSCE special envoy for Ukraine Martin Sajdik said in summing up the outcomes of the Trilateral Contact Group meeting on Oct. 6 that its next meeting should take place on Oct. 20.
