You're reading: Opposition deputies again leave session hall of parliament

The deputies of the BYT-Batkivschyna and Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense factions have left the session hall of the Ukrainian parliament.

"The BYT-Batkivschyna and Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense factions will continue to protest against the lawless outrage being conducted by the president. The organizers of repression should be held accountable, including through the imposition of personal sanctions against them by developed countries," BYT-Batkivschyna faction leader Andriy Kozhemiakin said from the parliament’s rostrum after talks held in the office of Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn.

Kozhemiakin said that the leaders of factions had failed to reach the agreements proposed by the opposition.

On Tuesday and Thursday, the deputies of the BYT-Batkivschyna faction blocked the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada.

On Friday, the Regions Party faction apparently blocked the parliament’s rostrum in order to resume the work of parliament.
