A tally of 88% of the ballots cast in Ukraine's October 28 parliamentary election shows that the opposition is leading in 16 regions on a candidate list basis, but the Regions Party is holding the lead in 12 districts in the first-past-the-post vote. 

The Batkivschyna party is leading in the candidate list vote in Kyiv, as well as Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnitsky, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions.

Batkivschyna is leading in six districts and the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union is leading in another six of Lviv region.

The results of the candidate list vote point to a win for the Regions Party in Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

As far as the first-past-the-post vote is concerned, the Regions Party is holding a lead over its rivals in 12 regions (117 districts), with Batkivschyna leading in six regions (43 districts), and independent candidates in another six. There is no clear leader in three regions.
