The Batkivschyna United Opposition has rejected a claim by Regions Party MP Leonid Kozhara that former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko called on European leaders not to give Ukraine a chance to complete the European Integration process.
The opposition's statement on its Web site reads that "indeed Yulia Tymoshenko is calling on the international community to help return Ukraine to the values of the united Europe, and by joint efforts to stop the regime of [Ukrainian President Viktor] Yanukovych."
"Unfortunately, the authorities consciously keep telling lies on television in the absence of opposition. Ukrainians received untrustworthy distorted information due to the absence of representatives of the united opposition," reads the statement.
On Monday, September 24, in the Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech) talk show on the ICTV Channel, Regions Party MP Kozhara stated that Tymoshenko asked European leaders "and the whole world to deprive Ukraine of the prospects of European integration."
