You're reading: Parliament adopts new law on cabinet complying with 1996 Constitution

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has adopted a law on the Cabinet of Ministers, which alters government regulations to meet the requirements of the 1996 Constitution.

A total of 252 out of 431 MPs voted for the bill on the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday. Under the new law, the president can dismiss any government minister or deputy minister.
