May 11 – Representatives of the Stability and Reforms parliament coalition have forecast that more deputies will join it.

"The Regions Party and I personally forecast that the number of deputies in the coalition is going to rise," a member of the Regions Party faction, Maksym Lutsky, told journalists on Tuesday.

According to the MP, the fact that a number of BYT deputies joined the coalition on Tuesday supported his claim.

He said that the BYT deputies’ motives for entering the coalition should not be regarded as simply a desire to join the authorities.

"This is not a betrayal of principles, as is presented by members of the opposition," said the deputy.

Lutsky said that while joining the coalition, the deputies of the BYT and Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense factions had announced that the normal work of the Verkhovna Rada and all the branches of power should be restored.

According to him, in that way they announced that they are tired of participating in political rallies to satisfy their political leaders’ ambitions.

"They showed a constructive position as regards the need to solve economic problems instead of involving Ukraine in another early election," he said.
