You're reading: Parliament dismisses Constitutional Court judge Tkachuk

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has dismissed Constitutional Court judge Pavlo Tkachuk.

A total of 253 MPs voted for a respective decision on Thursday.

Tkachuk was elected a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine under the quota of the Verkhovna Rada.

He submitted a letter of resignation at his own request in connection with the termination of his term in office.

After the vote, the first deputy head of the Ukrainian parliament, Adam Martyniuk, presented a valuable gift to Tkachuk – a Verkhovna Rada wristwatch.
