The Pechersky district court of Kyiv has arrested MP of the seventh convocation and former first deputy of the Party of Regions faction Mykhailo Chechetov until a bail of around Hr 5 million is paid.

The Pechersky district court of Kyiv ha arrested MP of the seventh convocation and former first deputy of the Party of Regions faction Mykhailo Chechetov until a bail of around UAH 5 million is paid.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that the ruling was issued by judge Olesia Batrin on Saturday.

Chechetov was arrested on February 21. The ruling is in effect until April 14.

On February 20 Public Prosecutor’s Office said that Chechetov was informed that he is suspected of committing a crime during the voting in the parliament on January 16, 2014 for laws restricting civil rights.
