Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he is certain that the adding a transitional provision on special self-governance for parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts to the Ukrainian Constitution is no threat to the country's sovereignty.

“We are filing and, I hope, voting for a key reform on Thursday, which has to be provided in Ukraine: the decentralization reform… The draft Constitution, the transitional provisions contain a clause that the self-governance regime is by no means a special status; the local self-governance regime will be provided under the law concerning the specifics of local self-governance in parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Nothing else,” he said an interview with the “1+1” channel on July 12.
