Spokesman for the Polish Foreign Ministry Marcin Wojciechowski has been appointed as Poland's Ambassador to Ukraine, the Polish Foreign Ministry's press service has reported.

“On behalf of the Polish president, [Foreign] Minister Grzegorz Schetyna has today presented the decision to appoint new Polish ambassadors. Piotr Stachanczyk will represent Poland in the United Nations office in Geneva, and Marcin Wojciechowski will represent Poland in Ukraine,” the Polish Foreign Ministry said in a report published on its website on Wednesday.

When commenting on Wojciechowski’s appointment, Schetyna noted that Polish-Ukrainian relations have never been better.

“However, that does not mean that we should not work on them in all the areas… I wish you luck in this difficult and responsible task,” the minister said.

Marcin Wojciechowski is a Polish journalist, documentary film director, essayist, and columnist for the Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza. Since September 2013, Wojciechowski had served as the press secretary of the Polish Foreign Ministry.
