The margin between the leaders of the Ukrainian presidential race, Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, was over 30 percent six days before the election, according to the findings of a poll conducted by the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the Ukrainian National Academy of Pedagogic Sciences.

About 74.3 percent Ukrainians are planning to go to the polls on May 25, according to the findings unveiled on Thursday.

Voter preference was as follows: Poroshenko – 45 percent, Tymoshenko –
13.3 percent, Sergiy Tigipko – 8 percent, Oleh Liashko – 7.6 percent, and Anatoliy Hrytsenko –
6.7 percent.

Should Poroshenko and Tymoshenko reach the runoff, they would muster 43.9 percent and 9.5 percent, respectively.

At the same time, the data is not final as around 20.7 percent of
respondents could not make their mind up about the second round of the
presidential election, the Institute said.

The poll was conducted among 1,905 respondents in 154 cities on May 13-19. The margin of error is 3.2 percent.
