The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine will achieve good results in the near future, newly appointed Minister of Economic Development and Trade Petro Poroshenko has said, according to the media liaisons department of the government's secretariat.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov introduced Poroshenko to the staff of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade on March 23.
"The Economy Ministry is responsible for the development of the economy, the modernization of the economy, a reduction in energy consumption and energy efficiency, price stability and a lot of other tasks… We need to ensure the holding of economic reforms," Azarov said.
He thanked the staff of the ministry and previous ministers "for their daily work to ensure the vital activity of the country."
Poroshenko, in turn, assured Azarov that the ministry would fulfill the tasks assigned to it.
"I hope that we will manage to achieve good results in the near future," he said.
As reported, Poroshenko was appointed minister of economic development and trade under a presidential decree on March 23.
