Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he hopes that the Verkhovna Rada will adopt next week a package of anti-corruption bills, in particular, a bill on the creation of an anti-corruption bureau.

“I hope that next week we will manage to adopt a number of bills at an extraordinary session of the Ukrainian parliament and ensure the fulfillment by Ukraine of its commitments to fight corruption, and that the Verkhovna Rada will support my anti-corruption bill on the creation of an anti-corruption bureau,” he said in a joint press statement with Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Poroshenko said he was confident that an effective fight against corruption would contribute to creating favorable conditions for the investment climate.
