Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements is the only way to resolve the military conflict in Donbas.

“Our clear and common position is that there is no alternative to Minsk. [The] Minsk [agreements] should work and all parties should clearly fulfill the obligations they have assumed,” Poroshenko said at a press conference he gave jointly with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on March 16.

He said that Ukraine is observing the ceasefire regime and “a decree on comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire was issued” on February 15.

At the same time, Poroshenko said Russia and the pro-Russian militants in Donbas “are not fully fulfilling their obligations under the Minsk agreements.”
