Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro Poroshenko has said that he did not bring forth any ultimatums after he received a proposal to take the post of the minister from Ukrainian authorities.

“I didn’t bring forth any ultimatums, but the issue of democratic rights, freedoms and European values was discussed. Of course, we should show a progress in this direction,” the minister said at the Shuster Live TV program late on March 30, answering a question about the truthfulness of information that he allegedly demanded to release form prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko and former interior minister Yuriy Lutsenko.

Poroshenko added that his position in regard with the said court proceedings has not changed.

“Trials against Tymoshenko and Lutsenko were conducted in such a way, which deprived their right to have fair and unbiased judges and the right to protect themselves,” he said.
