You're reading: Prosecutor’s: Criminal case opened against Tymoshenko on charge of attempted bribery

Opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko was summoned to the Main Investigative Department of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) May 12, 2010 to hand her, in accordance with the requirements of Article 98-2 the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, copies of resolutions on the opening of a criminal case against her on charges of the attempted bribery of judges of the Supreme Court of Ukraine.

The PGO press service said this in an official statement to the media, which was published on Wednesday, May 12.

The press service said that the criminal case had been opened in May 2004 and prematurely closed in January 2005 without implementing all of the necessary investigative actions in full, as provided by Article 22 of the Criminal Procedure Code. In this regard, the pre-trial investigation on this case has been resumed.
