Ukrainian presidential candidate Vasyl Protyvsikh (whose surname translates as Against-Everyone) says he expects to win through to the second round of presidential elections and considers Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to be his main opponent.

"All of my opponents are main ones. But Yulia Volodymyrivna [Tymoshenko] is the most main of all," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Protyvsikh said he expected to win the first round of presidential elections.

Asked where he had obtained the UAH 2.5 million deposit for his registration as presidential candidate, he said that his friends from around the world had provided assistance to him.

He said that he supports Ukraine’s economic growth.

"If we have an economically powerful Ukraine, it will have a financially healthy system and it will be respected by all of our neighbors," he said.

Protyvsikh had a different last name – Humeniuk – before October 2, 2009. Born in 1946, Protyvsikh heads the Ivano-Frankivsk Chamber of Commerce.
