Two thirds of Ukrainian citizens (66.3%) disapprove of Viktor Yanukovych's activities as president and 73.2% are dissatisfied with Mykola Azarov's performance as prime minister, according to an opinion poll, conducted in October by the Ukrainian Democratic Circle pollster.

Yanukovych’s performance is not approved by an absolute majority of citizens in the western and central regions, and a majority in the southern and eastern regions.

The grades given to Yanukovych dropped after May 2010.

The percentage of those who are satisfied with his work dropped by 37.5% (from 61.3% to 23.8%) in Oct. 2011, compared to May 2010, while the share of those who do not like what he is doing grew by 38.5% (from 27.8% to 66.3%).

Only 17% are pleased with Azarov’s performance as prime minister and 9.8% are undecided.

The poll was conducted at the request of the Institute of Politics on Oct. 1-7, 2011, and covered Ukraine’s adult citizens in all regions.

One thousand and two hundred respondents aged over 18 were polled at home. The margin of error does not exceed 2.9%.
