R&B poll: Four parties could win seats in parliament

Four parties, particularly the Regions Party, Batkivschyna, Vitali Klitschko's UDAR Party and the Communist Party of Ukraine, could overcome the 5% threshold in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, according to a poll conducted by Research & Branding Group from September 27 to October 9, 2012.

If the elections to the Verkhovna Rada took place this Sunday, the Regions Party would get support from 22.2% of all respondents (27.8% of those who are planning to vote), and Batkivschyna would receive 15.4% of the vote (19.4% of those who are planning to vote).

Vitali Klitschko's UDAR Party would garner 14.8% of the vote of all respondents (16.6% of those who are planning to vote). Some 9.6% of all those polled are ready to vote for the Communist Party of Ukraine (11.2% of those who are planning to vote).

As of early October 2012, the electoral threshold would not be overcome by the Svoboda Party (3.9% of the votes of all respondents and 4.7% of those intending to vote) and Natalia Korolevska's Ukraine-Forward! Party (2.7% of the votes of all respondents and 2.8% of those who are planning to vote).

The survey was conducted in 24 regions in Ukraine, Crimea, and the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol. A total of 3,118 people were interviewed. The poll's margin of error is 2%.

The parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for October 28.
