You're reading: Regions Party faction consulting with other parties on electing Azarov as Premier

The Regions Party parliamentary faction will support the candidacy of Mykola Azarov for the position of the Ukrainian prime minister, and is holding consultations on the issue with other parties.

“Our faction will vote for Azarov as premier,” Head of the Regions
Party faction in the parliament of the sixth convocation Oleksandr
Yefremov said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Monday.

He added that the Regions Party members are working on the issue with other parties.

The politician also said that the date of the vote on the issue has not been scheduled yet.

According to him, the issue will be clarified on Tuesday at a meeting of the preparatory deputy group.

“We decided to gather tomorrow at 1100 and take a decision on the
issue. We have a list of issues for the agenda of the first
parliamentary sitting, according to the regulations. And if we agree to
approve the candidacy of the premier, then we will do this on December
12,” he said.

As reported, on December 9, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych submitted Mykola Azarov’s candidacy for the premiership.
