Moscow - A high-ranking Russian diplomat has said he believes that Ukraine will not become a NATO member. 

“In any case, I do not think that this will happen. It is impossible,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vasily Nebenzya told Interfax.

“Both we and the West understand what Ukraine’s accession to NATO would mean for Russia,” he said.
