You're reading: Novak says Russia mulling direct energy supplies to Greece

Russia is looking at the possibility of organizing direct energy supplies to Greece, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

“Russia intends to support the recovery of the Greek economy by expanding cooperation in the energy sector. In this connection, we are exploring the possibility of supplying energy to the Greek state,” he said.

He said the supplies could begin in the near future. “Right now we’re working on this and could reach an agreement in the coming weeks,” he said.
