You're reading: Saakashvili to change heads of Odesa administrations, reshuffle staff in 50 days

ODESA – Chairman of Odesa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili wants to replace 26 heads of district state administrations in Odesa region within 50 days, as well as reorganizing administration employees, he said at a press conference on June 9.

The heads will be appointed by an open contest. To enter, one must fill in a digital application form.

The selected candidates will undergo a test for necessary skills and a “public examination.” In addition, he said that he would soon visit all the districts of the region to become familiar with the situation.

Saakashvili also said that if anyone asked him to appoint a certain person, that person would be disqualified.

He also promised to reorganize customs. A center will be created for businessmen to clear customs within 15 minutes. A new head of the Customs Service in Odesa will be appointed via a contest as well.

Saakashvili is also going to reorganize Odesa regional administration and dismiss some officials, the total number of whom currently amounts to 800.

The remaining employees will have to undergo a contest selection as well.
