Some 500 protesters against the consideration and adoption of a bill on the state language policy have gathered near the building of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament. The bill was drafted and submitted by the Regions Party MPs.

The protesters are holding state flags. No party symbols were brought to the rally.The number of protesters is increasing.

The traffic way on Hrushevsky Street is sealed off by Interior Ministry troops. Many buses with Berkut riot police are parked in the neighboring streets and in Mariyinsky Park, next to the parliament.
