You're reading: Svoboda nationalists trying to break open Kyiv administration’s front door

On July 11, 2013, members of Ukraine's Svoboda far-right party are attempting to break open the front door to the Kyiv city administration.

Police are pushing them away from the building, an Interfax correspondent has reported.

Several protesters have been trapped inside the building’s revolving doors.

Svoboda parliamentarians Yuriy Miroshnychenko and Andriy Illenko entered Kyiv administration headquarters and tried to unblock the revolving doors.

A fistfight broke out as police officers tried to stop them from unblocking the doors.

Representatives of opposition parties gathered outside Kyiv City Administration this morning ahead of a planned session of the city’s government, which the opposition sees as illegitimate.
