You're reading: Svoboda to support Yanukovych impeachment if enters Rada

The Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union is to support the idea of impeaching current President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych if it enters the parliament.

“The first thing is impeachment of Yanukovych,” Svoboda representative Andriy Ilyenko said during the forum entitled “Fair Conversation with Future Parliament” in Kyiv on Monday.

Moreover, he noted that among the priorities of this political force in parliament would be upholding of the adoption of the law on reviewing the privatization of strategic enterprises, as well as lustration.

In turn, representative of UDAR Party of Vitali Klitschko, Vitaliy Kovalchuk, said that “UDAR still supports the idea of primaries while offering the candidates under majority single-seat electoral districts during elections for Verkhovna Rada.

“Today we didn’t change our positions and opinions. In the beginning of the election process we’ll have to determine the favorite, and other candidates will have to withdraw their candidacies for the benefit of this person in order for the representative of the Regions Party not to win,” he said.

The parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for October 28.
