You're reading: Sweden increases humanitarian aid to Ukraine’s war-torn regions

Despite the change of government, Sweden will remain Ukraine's partner and will provide additional humanitarian and financial aid, Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom has said.

“I want to say that we are increasing the amount of humanitarian aid which will be provided to the regions which have been affected most as a result of the aggression against Ukraine. And when I go back to Stockholm, a decision on the allocation of an additional 10 million Swedish krona (UAH 20 million) to Ukraine will be made,” Wallstrom said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv.

She assured that Sweden will remain a friend and partner of Ukraine. Kyiv can count on the political, financial and diplomatic support of Stockholm, the minister said.

Wallstrom believes that the current situation in Ukraine is a real war waged openly by the Russian Federation.
