The condition of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko allows her to participate in investigative actions, and torture is not being used against her, the State Tax Service of Ukraine has reported.

"Reports of the use of torture against Tymoshenko do not reflect reality, which can be confirmed by statements of her lawyer," the service said in a statement on Tuesday.

The service also noted that "according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, there are no medical reasons not to conduct investigative actions with Tymoshenko in Kyiv’s detention facility."
