The leader of Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union Oleh Tiahnybok has stated that the placing of data in the server of the Central Election Commission (CEC) is being overseen by employees of Security Service of Ukraine, while the service explained the presence of its employees at CEC servers by the necessity to ensure the secure functioning of the election system.

“The authorities are blatantly rigging the results of the elections
to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation. Due to
impudent forgeries, the results announced at the CEC server flatly
contradict the results seen in the voting protocols at the polling
stations. The scale of the forgeries and the fact that employees of the
Security Service of Ukraine control introduction of data into the CEC
server prove that a scheme of forgeries was developed and implemented
from the highest offices at Bankova Street [where president’s
administration is situated], the press service of Svoboda quotes
Tiahnybok as saying on Tuesday.

According to him, in this way the authorities are trying to “steal every third vote given to Svoboda.”

Moreover, at a briefing on Tuesday he said two employees of the
Security Service in each district commission are overseeing how the data
are entered into the computer, and are then transmitted to the CEC
server. However, these employees according to the politician are not
reacting to discrepancies between the data entered in the computers and
the figures indicated in the protocols.

In turn, the press service of the Security Service told
Interfax-Ukraine that employees of the security service are not
interfering in the election process, and their presence at the server
premises of CEC was due to the necessity to ensure the secure
functioning of the Elections information and analytical system.

The press center said the security service has worked at the request
of the CEC as of October 12, 2012 on measures to ensure the security of
the functioning of the Elections information and analytical system.

“This order obliges [the SBU] to prevent unauthorized attempts to
access the system, and if necessary to take measures according to the
law,” the press center reported.
