Deputy Premier Social Policy Minister Sergiy Tigipko has confirmed the plans of the national gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy to limit Russian gas import by 27 billion cubic meters.

"Twenty-seven billion cubic meters is what Naftogaz will take, 6-8 billion is what our chemical industry will take," he said on Inter TV channel on Friday evening.

When asked, why Naftogaz currently increased the volume of gas taken from the underground storage facilities of Russia, Tigipko said: "It is growing really cold, and if Naftogaz decided to take more gas now, there is nothing to worry about. Anyway, we’ll end up with the balance I was speaking about. "
