Leader of the Strong Ukraine party Deputy Prime Minister for Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko doesn't rule out that the dissolution of his party at the congress on March 17 and its merger with the Party of Regions.

"Two congresses (of the Strong Ukraine and the Party of Regions) will take place on March 17 and will address this issue. Therefore, it is true (the dissolution of the Strong Ukraine party)," he told journalists in Kyiv on March 7.

Tigipko noted that in case of the merger of the two parties it is too early to say who will lead the election list for the elections to the Verkhovna Rada.

"It is too early to speak of this, very early. There is still a lot of time until the election," he stressed.

When asked whether he would lead the election list of the Party of Regions, Tigipko said that he currently had other tasks, in particular, the implementation of new social initiatives voiced by President Viktor Yanukovych.

"At present, we need to think how to implement the initiatives of the president. If these are implemented, then I will be happy to lead the list," the vice premier summed up.
