Well it's good Mr. President to hear these words come out of your mouth. But as President you are called to the greater responsibility to say "the buck stops with me, and no longer in my house". Despite the many, many wrong turns allowed under your Presidency ( not all but many) you still have a small chance at turning things around and accomplishing greatness never before seen in Ukrainian Independence to forever be recoded in history... but as your present administration or Parliament exists. Again I say to you accept nothing less than greatness from those accountable to you and to those that serve in Parliament. I mean this! Demand greatness and exceptional performance and you will be rewards with exceptional accomplishments. Stop settling for the old past status quo and old mindsets of the past. If you continue doing and allowing the same old things then you will get the same old results and you will fail. That is certain! What shall you chose... the legecy of a great President that lifted Ukraine to the level of the more advanced modern democratic European nations that have improved the lives of most all Ukrainians and the nation or will you be treated, persecuted and scorned like Yulia in a few years when your Precidency has been quickly ended? Only you can chose what path and then destiny will confirm the rest. I for one hope you take the path of true democracy and reform and transform Ukraine into the great nation that it can truly become and Ukrainians can be extremely proud of and be proud to say the name "President Yanucovich".
Mr Yanukovycheat...Eating humble pie? You are beginning to realise that corruption and fascism doesn't cut the ice in the West?If you want the Ukraine to prosper as a nation....leave along with your cronies! No doubt I would disappear if I was in your country..you have the means to silence critics.
The recent comments by Viktor Yanukovych reflect an attempt to save face and also a resignation to the fact that his Administration will not be able to bluff the EU (or other western democracies) in having the cake and eating it as well. To complicate matters further he may have very well grossly underestimated the reaction of Vladimir Putin and Co. to his attempts at "game playing" and as such he now faces an impending energy crisis, etc. To paraphrase his comment that one must be very alert when they are neighbours to a great bear would clearly indicate that he has an unreliable ally. Therefore, we have another U Turn towards the EU where concessions (although they are hard to swallow) are preferable to the Russian alternative. In short, the degree of his success to achieve an acceptable rapprochement with the EU, the IMF, and other western democracies in order to at least stall economic collapse will depend on meaningful reform and accepting a proper return to democratic values accompanied with a true respect for basic human rights.
No one who can think believes anything that Yanukovych says, and he is now probably just making noises to try to improve his party's chances in the next elections. Unfortunately, it is the Ukrainian people who will suffer from the actions of this foolish, incompetent man. He couldn't organise a booze-up in a brewery!
So, should the EU free trade agreements be ratified? I think so. The interests of ordinary people in Ukraine are paramount no matter what we think of this smiling twat. I am not Ukrainian, I am made in England, but this man truly makes me angry.
running scarred seems to me....the lying twat...will he ever
be Believed ? never by the west...he is out of his depth...
