You're reading: Turchynov: Klitschko already breaking his promises

The head of the central election headquarters of the Batkivschyna United Opposition, Oleksandr Turchynov, has stated that Leader of the UDAR Part Vitali Klitschko broke his own promises that members of elections commissions from his party would not participate in falsification of the elections.

“I personally had several phone conversations with him yesterday. I
personally asked him to ensure that members of elections commissions
from the UDAR Party don’t cooperate with the authorities and take an
unbiased and fair position. I asked him to ensure that in Irpin’s
constituency No. 95, where our candidate Valeriy Kutovy won, the UDAR
Party’s candidate does not cooperate with the local authorities and a
candidate of the ruling party by filing groundless lawsuits at court,”
Turchynov said at a press conference on Wednesday.

“Vitali promised me that they wouldn’t do that. But, unfortunately,
today I have information that an UDAR member and representatives of the
ruling party have submitted some 70 complaints to the election
commission. Thus, they are trying to form lawsuits on the basis of these
complaints,” he said.
