You're reading: Turchynov: Opposition to insist on creation of commission to investigate situation with Tymoshenko

The opposition wil insist on the creation of a temporary investigative parliamentary commission to investigate the situation with former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, said Oleksandr Turchynov, the head of the political council of the Batkivschyna United Opposition.

“Having announced the action of civil disobedience, Tymoshenko formed clear, completely legal requirements. Her rights as a person, a citizen, and a woman are being violated, and we cannot turn a blind eye to this,” he said in an interview with the LB.ua online portal.

In addition, according to Turchynov, the commission should investigate the case on “the murder of MP Kushnariov,” who was a strong politician and leader, “and many supporters of the Regions Party outside Donetsk considered him to be a real alternative to Viktor Yanukovych.”

“The motives of shots in Izium have not been fully studied, and the curtain on this case, as well as the Scherban case has not been dropped,” the politician said.
