You're reading: Tymoshenko: opposition deputies offered 1 million dollars to join coalition

Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the same name bloc, claims about a one-time bribe of 1 million dollars and then monthly payment of 25,000 dollars for a people's deputy to move from opposition to the coalition.

She said this in a Big Politics with Yevgeniy Kiselyov broadcast on Inter TV Channel June 25.

"It’s no secret today that they have offered a people’s deputy, notably, all deputies from our faction, 1 million dollars and then 25,000 dollars as monthly payment in one form or another," according to Tymoshenko.

At the same time she noted that did not absolve herself of responsibility for the transfer of deputies from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc to the coalition.

"I do not declaim responsibility for the quality of the deputy corps. Unfortunately, people’s nature and world’s nature today is that money has become absolute value. Morality, duty to the nation, responsibility has receded into the background, " the BYuT leader said.

The people’s deputies which did not agree to enter the coalition are capable to fulfill their election program and protect interests of voters, Tymoshenko assured.

As Ukrainian News reported, Yurii Lutsenko, former minister of internal affairs, leader of the People’s Self-Defense civic movement, said opposition deputies were offered 1.5 million dollars and some more 25,000 dollars monthly payment if they join the coalition.

The coalition consists of 257 deputies, where 219 are members of the Party of Regions, Communist Party and Lytvyn Bloc factions.
