President Viktor Yanukovych has approximately one week to negate or neutralize the verdict in this travesty of justice. If he fails or is unwilling to do so he will have written his own epitaph: POLITICAL SUICIDE.
This woman belongs in jail. Just maybe not for this.
Is this a horrific purge or a whorific purge?
Unfortunately people in Ukraine are rather uncultivated [I am married with one ... who has 2 university degrees!] and certainly do not know much what democracy means. Thus, this trial won't bring much political turbulence against Y. People will say if T is in prison is just because she did not respect the law or simply "we a have a strong president. Nobody messes with him ... and that's good". Alternatively will increase considerably the disinterest in politics from the people. In addition, the country is going through a cosmetic aurea and next year hosts its 1st ever european soccer event. Can you imagine what happens if Ukraine goes to the final?! That together with the improvement of the roads, bridges and other needed cosmetics won't allow the people to see through what's really happening here. Ukrainians are very indifferent to what happens next to them! I see that every day !!! A poor guy felt down the other day in the middle of the street and remained there with his arm in the air asking for support ... but no one stopped to help ... me included. Y's game is quite intelligent [though not as much as it should be] and one needs to know better the local mentality before thinking his team is making a political mistake. He is not, and Ukraine's ties with Russia are much closer than one may think. Europe agreements are just a low card in the pack ...
Bread and circuses!
If Tymu spends 7 years in jail she will still have 4 billions to play with, money she was permitted to keep, money she had stolen from the people of Ukraine.
Tymu could not chill out after the masses of poor Ukrainians rejected her foul mouthed ranting , and did not forgave her that while she was buying castles in europe with money she stole from ukrainian treasury ,, Ukrainians were starving to death no gas no electricty in the middle of winter.
She called her ripping off the Ukrainian public, an act of democracy.
while it is sad she ended up this way, America's calling for Tymushenko's release is the same as Putinis calling for Noriega's release...
No Ukrainian misses Tymu, and the west had already found better allies in Ukraine.
Tymu was a crook all for herself, without grace diplomacy or intellect..
I am sad she is jailed but its time Ukraine moves on to build its future, and leave its bickering crook leader behind..
Yulia Tymoschenko needs Dr. Ulrich Busch to win at the Human Rights Court in Strasbourg, France.
He has experience there and has won against the Federal Republic of Germany for his client.
The trial is a judgement on Ukraine not Yulia.
