You're reading: Tymoshenko should continue her treatment in hospital, says her daughter

Daughter of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Yevhenia, has said that Ukrainian authorities should implement the recommendation of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) of March 15, 2012 on obligatory inpatient treatment of Yulia Tymoshenko, reads a posting on the Web site of the former premier.

“ECHR on March 15, 2012 involving Rule 39 of the Rules of Court established a procedure for the Ukrainian government to treat Yulia Tymoshenko. Under the decision of the court, independent doctors, the doctors of the Charité Hospital in Germany, are to make all the decisions linked to her treatment. Moreover, they said many times that they doubt that my mother will completely recover in the conditions of permanent physiological stress and inhuman pressure the whole state machine applies to her,” Tymoshenko said.

She said that the coincidence in time of issuing the statement of the Health Ministry on the completion of Yulia Tymoshenko’s treatment and the statement of the State Penitentiary Service on the cancelation of a visit of German physicians is a non-random.

“The statement of doctors who are under control of Bankova Street is unclear, illogical and illegal, as the doctors have never examined my mother and they cannot assess her state of health. On the other hand, German physicians will not be able to examine her in the near term and assess her state of health. Their visit was canceled deliberately,” she added.

The former premier’s daughter said that the visit of physicians of the Charité Hospital was canceled by the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine on the basis of information from the State Penitentiary Service on the impossibly to visit Yulia Tymoshenko in coming three days.

“This happened when my mother’s state of health worsened,” she said.

“Yanukovych has decided to fulfill the legal claims of my mother to remove video cameras and ensure convoy consisting of women… What can we expect from the regime after the EU-Ukraine Summit? At present, we can state that the state of her health has worsened,” she said.
