You're reading: Tymoshenko spent Hr 289.9 million on election campaign

Former candidate for president, Prime Minister, Yulia Tymoshenko spent Hr 289,929,508.39 on her election campaign, reads a consolidated statement on receipt and use of means from Tymoshenko's election fund, published in the governmental newspaper Uriadovyi Kurier.

According to the statement, total amount of Tymoshenko’s election fund was Hr 289,930,114.64.

Receipts to the accumulation account of the Batkivschyna party’s election fund made Hr 290,176,927.49: Hr 272,131,922.75 from parties entering the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko and Hr 18,045,004.74 voluntary contributions form physical entities.

During the campaign the candidate paid Hr 272,677,593.24 for using mass media,Hr 5,034,819.86 for production of canvassing materials, and the rest of the money was spent to other ends related to canvassing.

Unused left Hr 606.25, and Hr 246,050 were returned to real persons (voluntary contributions).

Former president of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk was administrator of the accumulation account of the election fund.

The statement was submitted on February 17.

As earlier reported, Tymoshenko opened an account of a president candidate’s election fund at BrokBusinessBank.

The Central Electoral Commission on Feb. 14 declared Yanukovych the president based on the election outcome.

At the runoff Yanukovych won 48.95% votes and his rival Yulia Tymoshenko, the prime minister 45.47%.
