Presidential candidate and Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said she is confident that if she wins the upcoming second round of the presidential election, Sergiy Tigipko will accept her offer to head the country's government.

She said this in an interview with the Fifth TV Channel.

"He [Tigipko] is not obliged to say anything in public. It’s important for me that he clearly claimed his agreement to work in government, as well as reform and modernize the country with the president who wins the election. I think that this is the position that gives us an answer to the question of what our team will be like after the presidential election, which team will be in government, and who will head it," Tymoshenko said.

She said that "I will also put forward all of the proposals to Arseniy Yatseniuk on joint work in the state with new leaders".

Tymoshenko also commented on the fate and further political activity of incumbent Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko.

"If his battle for the independence of Ukraine and its true history is real and fair, then it seems to me that it would be extremely important [for him] to support the unification and consolidation of the democratic forces," she said.
