Kyiv's Pechersky District Court has again refused to change the measure of restraint for former Ukrainian Prime Minister and Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that Rodion Kireyev, the judge of Kyiv’s Pechersky District Court who is presiding in the Russian gas supply contract case, had rejected the tenth petition from Tymoshenko’s lawyers who asked the court to release their client from custody.

Tymoshenko was brought to trial on charges of abuse of office during the signing of the 2009 gas contracts with Russia.

She was arrested on August 5 for misconduct and disrespectful attitude toward the court.
