Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko's state of health has sharply deteriorated, her defense lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotniuk said.

“Yulia Volodymyrivna’s condition has sharply deteriorated. She does not get out of bed. I managed to talk to her for just a few minutes,” he told reporters near Central Clinical Hospital No.5 in Kharkiv where Tymoshenko is undergoing medical treatment.

Tymoshenko’s hunger strike is in its tenth day, he said. Despite her serious condition, she will not end the hunger strike until election abuses have been recognized, he said.

Reports said earlier that Tymoshenko went on a hunger strike on October 29 in protest against vote rigging.
