You're reading: UDAR: Opposition leaders, Nuland discuss sanctions against Ukrainian officials

The leaders of Ukraine's parliamentary opposition Arseniy Yatseniuk, Vitaliy Klitschko and Oleh Tiahnybok discussed with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland the possible sanctions against Ukrainian officials involved in the use of force against civilians and violation of human rights.

The parties discussed the situation in Ukraine, in particular the continuing repressions against protesters, the pressure on opposition activists, arrests of property of opposition MPs, raids on the offices of leaders of opposition parties’ regional branches, and intimidation of citizens, the press service of the UDAR party reported.

They also discussed mechanisms for establishing balance among powers as a step towards overcoming the crisis.
