You're reading: UDAR slams reappointment of some ministers

The new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine shows that Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has no systematic approach to tackling the crisis, the UDAR Party has reported.

“The return to the government of odious personalities, corrupt
officials and Ukrainophobes who are inciting ethnic strife in the
country causes greater indignation. The reappointment of Education
Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk is a blatant slap on the face of Ukraine and
Ukrainians. These new-old names will unlikely be a sign of a different
policy in the state,” the party said in a statement on Monday.

The party also said that some appointments had demonstrated who is being “integrated” into power.

UDAR also demanded that Prime Minister Mykola Azarov immediately
report on the actions of the previous government, particularly in the
economic sphere, tender procurement, health and social spheres. The
party said that such a public report would not only show the result of
Azarov’s previous tenure as prime minister, but also be a warning to the
use of dirty schemes in future.

“Some of the previous ministers failed everything and switched to
work in parliament, hiding from the people to whom they should have
answered for their ‘activity,’ for non-transparent tenders, anti-social
reform, Hyundais [Korean-made high-speed trains], which are not running,
etc. We are demanding a report and responsibility so as to prevent
possible abuse,” reads the statement.
