Ukraine is considering a possibility of buying European gas in initial quantities of around 10 billion cubic meters, said Yevhen Bakulin, the head of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy.

"We are holding consultations over gas market diversification to buy gas from Europe. Quantities are somewhere in the region of 10 billion cubic meters of gas," he told reporters after a congress of the Regions Party in Kyiv on Saturday.

Also, such work is impossible without legal changes, which include, in particular, a bill to reform Naftogaz Ukrainy, Bakulin said.
