You're reading: Ukraine does not receive proposals from Russia on some gas issues

Ukraine has not received proposals required for a compromise on some gas issues from Russia at negotiations on Sept. 26 in Berlin, the press service of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine has reported.

The ministry said that the compromise package is to include three points: the formation of the price of gas using only market principles (via the revision of the principal contract between Naftogaz Ukrainy and Gazprom or the signing of the additional contract); the agreeing of schedules and conditions of payments for gas (consumed in the previous period and in the future periods), including the application of the take or pay conditions and the converge of peak loading; and bringing of the contract on transit of Russian gas via Ukraine to the requirements of the EU Third Energy Package.

“At the negotiations held on Sept. 26 Ukraine did not receive an acceptable proposal from Russia on the package,” the ministry said.

Now the specialists of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry and Naftogaz Ukrainy are working out proposals on the results of the talks on Sept. 26 arrived from the European Commission.
