Ukraine's Communist Party has called for the country to join the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, the Common Economic Space and the Eurasian Economic Community.

“We support joining the Customs Union, the Common Economic Space and
the Eurasian Economic Community, while developing good-neighborly
relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries, based
on the mutual renunciation of all forms of economic, political or
ideological dictatorship,” Ukrainian Communist Party Leader Petro
Symonenko said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine when speaking about
the key provisions of the party’s electoral platform.

“Our proposed economic policy will focus on the real sector of economy as a foundation,” Symonenko said.

He also promised that the Communist Party would put an end to the
dollarization of the national economy, ensure a strong purchasing power
for the national currency and creating reliable guarantees for the
savings of Ukrainian citizens.

Symonenko said he believes that all natural resources, land, mineral
resources, and business assets should be owned by the Ukrainian people.

“The right to use them in the public interest should be granted to the state,” the politician said.
