The Batkivschyna united opposition on Monday will file with the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine a lawsuit seeking the recognition of crimes committed by President Viktor Yanukovych against the people of Ukraine.

“A total of 309,711 signatures in support of the lawsuit were collected as of Friday,” Oleksandr Turchynov, the head of the central elections headquarters of the united opposition, told a press conference on Monday.

“The united opposition has filed a lawsuit with the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine,” Arseniy Yatseniuk, leader of the Front for Change Party, said.

Yatseniuk said the legislation requires that lawsuits be signed by one person and therefore the documents filed with the court will be signed by him.
